What makes our work stand out is our boundless enthusiasm for optimal technical solutions in roof surfaces for vehicle traffic, but also our ability to see and accordingly eliminate any weak points using these new technologies.

Our philosophy and know-how

Over 45 years of experience in building roof car parks.

The engineers and construction workers employed by POBURSKI have been building roof car parks and special surfaces on heated roofs since 1967, that is the point when city centres began lacking parking zones and roof surfaces became first used as car parks for customers. At that time it was a technical novelty.

At the beginning, roof surfaces for vehicle traffic were built on roofs made of concrete prepared on-site. Later on relatively elastic roof constructions made of prefabricated panels, e.g. TT/Pi panels were implemented. Nowadays they are very often built on channel concrete ceilings. To meet present requirements for warmth retention, the extent to which ceilings are thermally insulated needs to be increased. Durable water-tightness and adaptation for usage by various vehicles, both passenger cars and lorries, are also their essential properties. The construction of car parks needs to include an appropriate slope to drain water as quickly as possible.

In our search for the most optimal system and while selecting the most important elements (e.g. building wrap or thermal insulation that would comply with standards regarding compression strength, but also of required flexibility for dynamic loads and tightness by highly flexible and durable in low temperatures alestomeric-bituminous sealed asphalt roofing) we have analysed the weak points we came across to work out a better solution.

Using our own experience, we have set high requirements regarding individual construction elements.  We changed their perception in order to eliminate the weaknesses that we found and to optimise roof car parking systems with the view of many years of exploitation at low maintenance costs.

Our innovative construction design sets new standards for non-typical open air roof car park loading. Our input in technical improvement was acknowledged by the industry.

The results of our work include: Mapotrix dilatation gaps constructions, line drainage systems, wall connections, concrete slabs on ramps anchorage, pipe culverts, lighting poles foundations with an extremely low thermal bridge influence, as well as functional rolling bearing, risk lowering concrete recipes, appropriate ideas for concrete final treatment and pneumatic hall design for protection of the newly placed concrete surface against negative influence of the climate conditions on roofs with thermal insulation.

Reinforcement made of steel reinforcement grids has always been weak point of concrete surfaces. Our engineers have been extremely engaged in sorting out this issue. The answer to this problem that we may offer today is the synthetic fibre reinforcement. Presently it is an acknowledged solution used for roof car parks surface systems. A mixture of alkali-resistant polypropylene/polyethylene fibres is added to the fresh concrete thus improving the technological properties of concrete. Thanks to our method of production, fibres are located on the whole section of concrete and prevent it from cracking.  Consequently, pressure is absorbed preventing initial damage and significantly improving the overall quality of the surface.
